Class 50 021/033 - Their Future?

Postby andrew clapp » 13 May 2011 09:30

Hi, can anybody shed any light on the future prospects of 50021 & 033 ? 50021 seems to have been left to the elements with no work to restore her carried out for many years. The current owners seemed to have turned their attention to 033 and 021 left by the wayside. If there is no intention to restore Rodney why has she not been offered for sale to other groups who might be able to restore her to her former self. I would love to seem this machine receive the required attention ASAP and stop the decay from progressing any further. I understand restoring these locos is a time and cost consuming job and don't mean to sound as if I'm putting down the actions of the owning party as there maybe issues beyond their control preventing the works. Whats the case with 50033? Regards Andrew Clapp 8)

Hi thanks for the welcome, I sure someone will come up with the answers I,m looking for. I would like to see if a number of persons would be interested in the purchase and restoration of Rodney Should the owners wish to sell but will have to see if we get a reply. Thanks again Regards Andrew Clapp (Class 50 and all things big and noisey Nut). 8)
