Deltic Retro Scot Tour 2 (31-May-10)

What a great tour. Positioning the stock so that the 2nd class tso's were always leading meant us cranks stayed happy, whilst those having food were not disturbed - other railtour operators please take note of this winning formula.

Deltic 22 is a real credit to all that keep her running and a real dream when on the mainline. We managed 97 mph on a full rake plus a dead tail 57 which made it all the more impressive.

Listening to RSG fire up under Waverley before returning home was something else - the only downside was the ridiculous routing onto the slow lines noth of York - for no obvious reason. Perhaps we would have reached 100 mph - who knows.

A great value day at 55 sheets and the sight of blue and grey aircons made it all the more worthwhile - have some great shots and memories from the tour which I'll treasure in years to come. Now we need more of these tours.

Just a quick note on behalf of the team to say thanks to all supported the tour yesterday and in particular those who purchased items from the sales stand yesterday and supported the RSG/GH raffle, very much appreciated. Hope you all had a splendid day out.

Look forward to seeing some of you again on June 12th.
